8 step workflow to create photo book
STEP 1
CONTACT AND CONSULTATION
The first step is contact with the photographer and consultation regarding the entire project of the photographic book. To design a book we ask few questions that will help us to know the expectations of the photographer and how he/she would like to present their work in this dedicated publication. We talk about the amount of pictures, format of the book, we set the additional information associated with the biography, titles of the photos, the story behind the photos or any other text. We set the backgrounds and number of pages. We’re talking about the cover and the title. Does it have to be a series of books or a single independent publication etc.
STEP 2
SIGNING AGREEMENT
At this point please create a free account on Peecho.com
Thanks to our partner Peecho, we have designed and launched special module for linking Camerapixo with Peecho allowing the photographer the ability to monitor what happens to his/her publication in real time, who orders and the order process. Therefore, the photographer sets up a free account in the Peecho system by approving the terms of cooperation both with Camerapixo and Peecho. Based on the selected plan, agreed individually with the photographer we set the profit on the publication.
STEP 3
MATERIAL PREPARATION
At this stage is a collection of all the necessary materials, which is discussed with the photographer, it includes the details on how to prepare photos, text and logo to be used in the publication. The photographer may also take advantage of the ready TEMPLATES, and with the relevant guidelines prepares own draft project of the whole book by sending it for approval to us in PDF format, which then if approved will be sent to Peecho.
STEP 4
CREATING A BOOK
Next step is our graphics department, which prepares the whole mock-up books from the accumulated materials. It takes few days depending on the number of orders. The cover is created, introduction and pages with photos. In one word we create a whole new project. Each project is considered individually, although you may also use ready TEMPLATES prepared by our graphic team. At the photographer request we are able to make 2 color versions, for example: black or white backgrounds inside the publication. If the photographer requests to sell digital versions of the book, we are also able to prepare it properly and implement it on the publication page.
STEP 5
SHOWCASE AND CONSULTATION
After completion of the initial project, layout of the material, we present it to the photographer for approval in the form of a PDF in low resolution. High resolution is prepared at the very end, when we send the work for print. The whole project is created by using ADOBE CREATIVE package: Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator.
STEP 6
CORRECTIONS
We make the appropriate changes and we put all the amendments required by the photographer regarding pages, layout of the photos, text, signatures or other additional graphic elements. We always care about the quality of the project and material and we guarantee high quality by including creative ideas.
STEP 7
FINAL REVISION WITH APPROVAL
After approval by the photographer, whole material is already being prepared for publication in PDF format and placed on the Peecho platform. From this moment on, the photographer has the ability to monitor what is happening in the sales and shipping system. Each publication has a different status depending whether it is sent or is waiting to print. Profit is calculated automatically after the shipment of the publication to the customer.
STEP 8
PROMOTING AND SELLING
Now the final and very important step is to promote the publication. On Camerapixo website in the Publication section, a subpage is created, dedicated to a particular publication, containing the description, photos and a button to purchase it. We also begin to promote the publication on our social sites. Photographer should also starts his own promotion of the publication, which increases the chances of its sales and reaching out to a wider audience.
